White Tea Health Benefits

White tea contains a number of bioactive chemicals such as flavonoids, caffeine, fluoride and theanine. Current research shows white tea is associated antioxidative and immune-boosting properties that improve human health. The largest antioxidant in white tea are polyphenols, known as catechins (part of the chemical family of flavonoids). Flavonoids have been proven to prevent the growth of cancer-causing cells, making it a brilliant preventative for cancers such as colon, prostate, and stomach cancer. White tea buds have high concentrations of these properties because the young leaves are not oxidized or fermented when processed.

The antioxidants in white tea protect the body and help with healing. They have comparable levels of the same antioxidants found in green tea. Antioxidants found in tea have been prized for fighting of illness and proved to reduce cholesterol, lower blood pressure, maintain circulatory system, and protect the heart. Due to the high concentrations of polyphenols white tea naturally kills bad bacteria and viruses in the body. White tea boosts the immune system and replenishes the gut by fighting off free-radicals.

White tea also contains small amounts of fluoride which drastically improves oral heal. It does not strain your teeth like coffee or other teas. White tea drinkers have been found to notice much whiter and healthier teeth.

Not only will your insides love the fact that you have started to drink white tea, but your skin and overall appearance will also reap the benefits! White tea protects the skin and helps heal damage that occurs from the free radicals that come from sun's rays. The healing is due to the plant extracts found in white tea that act as protection for the two main proteins in the skin: elastin and collagen. Therefore making your skin tighter, brighter and fuller. The antioxidants also help to make your eyes brighter, give you more energy, and have also said to be very good for digestion.
